Upload a pain.001 payment batch

Send a payment run as a single ISO 20022 file, validate it, and release the whole batch under four-eyes.

6 steps about 8 min

Follow these steps

Work top to bottom — each step sets up the next.

  1. 1

    Export pain.001 from your system

Produce the CustomerCreditTransferInitiation (pain.001) file from your ERP or treasury system, covering the payments in the run.

  2. 2

    Open batch upload

Payments -> Batch upload, choose format pain.001, and select the file.

  3. 3

    Read the validation summary

The portal validates the file against the schema and checks every payment — IBAN checksums, BIC format, currency vs debit account. Review any errors it reports.

A schema failure rejects the whole file and names the failing element; fix it in your source system and re-export rather than editing the XML.
  4. 4

    Confirm control totals

Check the count of payments and the grand total against what your system exported. This is your reconciliation check before anything moves.

  5. 5

    Submit and approve

Submit the batch for approval. A second authoriser releases it under four-eyes; each payment is then screened and sent on its rail.

  6. 6

    Track individual payments

Each payment appears in your list with its own status. Track, trace or query any one of them exactly as you would a single payment.
