Getting started

Markets OS is a front-to-back operating system for Global Markets. Its whole reason to exist is to let the people closest to a trading desk build software safely on the bank's own systems — without waiting quarters for central IT, and without ever putting production data or controls at risk. Everything you see is real, working software reading live demo data; none of it is a picture.

The idea in one sentence

A Champion builds an app in a visual studio, that app reaches live trading, risk and reference data only through safe connectors, and nothing reaches production until it has passed a formal governance pipeline. Build fast, run safely, prove everything after the fact.

Who uses the platform

Two kinds of people share Markets OS, and the navigation rail on the left reshapes itself for each.

  • Champions — desk quants and technologists who build and run apps. They live in the App studio, the run history, and the connector catalogue.
  • Control and governance — independent reviewers who sign versions off for production, plus the Head of Global Markets who watches the whole book. They live in Governance, Audit and the Markets view.

Finding your way around

Step into any role from the persona switcher at the top right and watch the rail change — a role only ever sees what it is allowed to.

  • App studio — build an app on the visual DAG builder, version it, submit it for review.
  • Governance — walk a version through technical and business-risk review to production.
  • Connectors — the safe MCP bridges to Murex, TLM and Bloomberg, and the log of every call made.
  • Cross-sell — GCIB origination whitespace the desks can act on.

Good to know

Look for the small ⓘ icons next to a heading — hover or tab to one for a one-line explanation.

Switching persona always returns you to the cockpit so you can see that role's starting point.
